Why Something From Nothing?

I am the youngest of seven, raised by a single mom on welfare in a mixed -race household at a time when mixed households weren’t inclusive. She never made more than $500/month in her whole life, but she taught me something that I would use to generate several hundreds of millions in transactions and investments. She taught me how to make something from nothing. 

When Mom passed about 10 years ago she had a comfortable home with cable TV, AC, 2 bathrooms and a freezer full of food she would share with people less fortunate than others. She suffered abusive relationships, evictions, poverty, but she never gave up. In the summer of 1969 She tried to start a new life, driving from Chicago west towards California, with 7 kids under the age of 9 in tow, when her car broke down near Omaha NE. We lived in a tent in Louisville State Park for 3 months until she got on welfare and we found a 1 bedroom apartment in the Little Italy neighborhood of Omaha to live in. 

Mom never gave up, and she explored every opportunity given to her.  She found a program where the City of Omaha would let people buy condemned homes for $1, and they provided a low-interest loan for renovations. Never again would we face evictions. It was because she bravely created something from nothing. Follow my blogs and vlogs, and I’ll share what I learned from her, and how I and hundreds of others have used these principles to survive, start over, thrive – even start new businesses or escape poverty.
