For the past several years my focus and my mission have been on providing incarcerated citizens answers, information, tools, and resources to prepare for life upon release.
After my own brief prison sentence following business mistakes during The Great Recession, my eyes were opened to the potential houses behind bars in our prisons and jails.
Since that time I have returned to prisons to teach my Illegal-to-Legal courses and to become a resource through my classes currently available inside on Edovo and other approved content systems.
All of this has kept me in touch with people inside who are determined to forge a new life when they get out.
As information can be hard to access in prison, I started a column called “Ask Bob.” There is never a shortage of people from all over prisons in the United States asking me for information. Now, I’m taking these letters and this column to a new level by making it available on YouTube and in my blog at Pelshaw.Com.
- Can I work in real estate, with a criminal history?
- Do you know of any groups that provide free research for inmates?
- Assuming I have a good business plan, good product, a good marketing plan, and I need financing, what could I expect for terms, ballpark?
The research I do to provide quality information to people inside can also be a great tool for you if you’re already out and working hard to make a new life, a new career or even a new business for yourself.
What questions do you have? I’d love to hear from you. I reply to everyone who writes me and some I will choose for future Ask Bob columns.
Subscribe the button here at youtube, follow my facebook page and stay current with new content offered each week. I encourage you to share it with people you know that area also trying to forge a new life.
Information is power and together we can empower a new wave of reform as thousands more make the transition from illegal to legal.
